Jones Gallery presents an art history study tour of the capital of the early Italian Renaissance: Florence. Jones Gallery curator and art historian Sarah Jones leads the small-group tour, presenting lectures on site in Florence’s seminal cathedrals, museums, and piazzas.

$4,695 CAN (+hst) per person (based on double occupancy - single rate available upon request)

Note: This program fee includes accommodation at the Palazzo Guadagni. If you prefer to make your own accommodation arrangements, please contact us for the program fee minus accommodation. We recommend staying in the Oltrarno, near the Santo Spirito piazza, as we will be using the Palazzo Guadagni for some sessions and meeting points.

Included in program fee:

  • All museum and site related entry fees

  • Seven nights accommodation at Palazzo Guadagni, a beautiful hotel on the Santa Spirito piazza (Sarah’s favourite)

  • Seven breakfasts and five multi-course evening meals

  • A copy of the Blue Guide to Florence plus a travel study manual written by Sarah Jones with ideas, recommendations and notes

This study tour is a comprehensive introduction to the Florentine Renaissance, with a curriculum meticulously prepared by art historian Sarah Jones.

Through on-site lectures, you will learn about the origins and development of the Florentine Renaissance, Renaissance painting, sculpture, and architecture, and the important artists of the early Renaissance, including Botticelli, Brunelleschi, Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, Fra Angelico, Donatello, among many others.
