Jimy Sloan is a visual artist from Prospect, Nova Scotia. His painting practice focuses on the creation of transitional spaces, exploring depth and texture while transforming figure and form.
Upon graduation from NSCAD University, Halifax, Nova Scotia in 2012, Jimy completed a one-year NSCAD Community Residency Program in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia. His first major solo exhibition Composite Reactions was held in 2016 in Halifax, Nova Scotia, followed in 2017 by a second solo exhibition Intuitive Real in Montréal, Québec. Juice, his third consecutive solo exhibition was held in Halifax, Nova Scotia in 2018. He has received financial support for his work through Arts Nova Scotia, Creation Grants and his paintings are held in public, private and corporate collections including the Nova Scotia Art Bank and the Canada Council Art Bank.
