Leonardo's Adoration of the Magi: A Christmas Art History Talk

  • Jones Gallery 1 Charlotte Street Saint John, NB Canada (map)

We'll take a close look at Leonardo's Adoration of the Magi in this Christmas-themed art history talk with gallery curator, Sarah Jones.

The familiar figures are there - Mary and Child, the three Magi, and assorted animals - but Leonardo also included crumbling ruins, mysterious staircases leading seemingly nowhere, and a distant battle on horseback.

Also on the art historical deck for the evening: why is Leonardo such a big deal anyway? We'll discuss via Adoration.

Art history lectures at Jones Gallery are free and open to the public.
