EMILIE GRACE LAVOIE
Born in New Brunswick, Emilie Grace Lavoie obtained her Diploma of Collegial Studies in Fashion Design in 2011 from LaSalle College in Montreal, her Bachelor in the Visual Arts in 2016 from Université de Moncton and her Master of Fine Arts in 2018 from Emily Carr University of Art and Design in Vancouver.
During her studies in Montreal, Emilie Grace had the chance to research in collaboration with Le Centre des technologies du Québec working on technological interventions on her garment designs. One of her projects was presented during Le Festival Eûreka du Centre des Sciences de Montreal.
Passionate about fashion and art, she conceptualized and co-organized Art-à-Porter, an event that joins fashion design, painting, and performance. It was first presented in the fall of 2014 at Université de Moncton. This performance/exhibition was also presented at the Centre des arts d'Edmundston in May 2016 and at The Works Art and Design Festival in Edmonton, in June 2017.
In July 2017, Emilie Grace represented New Brunswick-Canada at the VIII Games of La Francophonie in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire, where she won the silver medal in Sculpture and Installation category.
