Symmetry at Versailles

I think I prefer rough-and-tumble haphazard gardens, but the symmetry at Versailles is mesmerizing. The interior of the palace had me blinking gold, and even in February the crowds inside were daunting. The grounds, however, were eerily quiet and and welcome respite from the tour groups.

We also visited the Queen's Hamlet, an odd rustic juxtaposition to the grandeur of the main palace, built in 1783 by Marie-Antoinette. There was a royal pig in residence.

On another note, my course has been posted at UNB Saint John! Community members (non-students) may register as auditors of the class. Which means no papers/exams. As fun as picking flowers.
