Palette Knives and Rollers

I spent the early part of the afternoon working on the harbour commission piece and then moved around the corner to the Duke Street building to start painting the walls.  So oil to latex. How's that for mixed media.

The walls at Duke Street are currently red and black, and I'm eventually aiming for bright white... might take a few coats.

Guess who was a big help.

Commission: King/Germain Street

I've been working on a commission project centred around King and Germain for a couple months. I love the colours on this corner - red brick of the Business Resource Centre (where I work for half the week!), the grey-beige of the CIBC building, and then the green Trinity steeple.

Winter Hours

Jones Gallery will be open by appointment only from December 27, 2010, until later in the new year (probably late January or February) for some renovation work plus the start of a new super-secret artwork series.  I just placed a supplies order for the latest super-secret project (two dozen oil sticks plus a gallon of liquin, if that's any hint). I'll be posting some cryptic photos of the new series as it progresses. Assuming it does progress.

In the meantime, I'll be working on a couple large commissions. One of them will be based on this shot of the harbour:
