Project 100: Day Four

Duke and Germain, oil on canvas, 6x6 inches, 2013Looking down the Duke Street hill once again, this time in the direction of Saint John High School. I read an architecture article once, something about urban identity being transient in nature, changing and evolving - an field of accumulated meanings. I think that is why landscape can be a powerful genre - this field of accumulated meanings.

My point is: I spent four years running in and out of the Saint John High School Duke Street entrance. Accumulated meaning: this view of Duke Street always makes me feel like I've forgotten some assignment.
