Stupid Mixed Media

My mixed media projects have been relegated to the corner. Stupid mixed media. I have some impasto medium (stuff that creates texture) coming in to the art store sometime next week, so I've decided to stop fiddling with these canvases until it arrives. I prefer to do a piece in one or two sittings. That way I can generally avoid 'over-painting' - disturbing the balance between just enough paint to get the point across and too much detail (forest for the trees and all that). And fiddling always equals over-painting. Above photo = case-in-point. Bugger.
